An LPG Tanker crashed into a truck carrying Honda 2-wheelers today at Udaipur-Ahmedabad Highway. Due to inflammable gas, both trucks caught fire which also disrupted the traffic for hours.

The truck driver died on the spot whereas a spotter is admitted in hospital with serious burn injuries.

The accident took place at Village Kaya when LPG tanker going towards Ahmedabad lost its control and hit the road divider and jumped to the other side of the road crashing into a truck coming from opposite direction. The truck was carrying new scooters and coming towards Udaipur.

The deceased truck driver is identified as Rajendra. According to an eye witness, soon after the crash both vehicles were gutted in fire. Fortunately, the tanker driver and his spotter managed to escape the flames. However, driver and spotter of other truck were trapped inside.

Two fire brigade vehicles responded to the scene and rescued the spotter, but could not save the driver. All scooters in truck were also destroyed in the fire.

Police stopped all vehicles at a safe distance from the accident spot. Long queue of vehicles were seen at highway.

Debris of trucks was removed from the road and traffic was restored. No official report had been lodged till the time of writing this news.
