Following the continuous road mishaps from last few days, today three people, including a 55-year-old woman lost their lives in two road accidents in the city.

Following the continuous road mishaps from last few days, today three people, including a 55-year-old woman lost their lives in two road accidents in the city.

In a tragic incident that occurred today morning near Balaji Polytechnique College, Pratap Nagar, a truck trying to overtake another vehicle, hit a mother and son on motorcycle moving towards Udaipur from Rakhiyawal.

The truck overran Kanku Bai Dangi killing her on the spot, while her son Chunnilal received minor injuries. According to sources, victim was going to Udaipur for her treatment of appendicitis.

The truck driver fled immediately after the incident, but later, local people with the help of police caught the driver identified as Chatar Singh from Amritsar.

Another road accident took place last night of 15 Nov. at Ubeshwar road; two people died on the spot, whereas one was admitted in hospital with serious injuries. According to police, three people, Nasir Mohammad (28), Lalu Ram (40) and Hitesh Chawla were returning to Udaipur on a scooter, while passing through the hilly region of Ubeshwar, the scooter brakes failed and the trio fell off.

Truck smashes elderly woman, 2 other killed in road accidentsTill morning, all the three injured were lying unconscious; few people commuting in bus noticed the wounded men and informed Nai Police Station. Police reached on the spot and declared that Nasir Mohammad (in photo above) and Lalu Ram were dead, while Hitesh was seriously injured. He was later rushed to MB Hospital.

Bodies of the victims are shifted to mortuary for post mortem.
