A 17-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide, out of frustration on not being allowed to go for a Dandiya program.  Soniya (name changed), resident of Dewali died after being admitted to MB Hospital; she had consumed poison last night.

According to the victim’s family, Soniya fractured her leg last month in an incident and was not able to go to Dandiya because of pain in the leg.  This frustrated her and she took the extreme step of committing suicide.

Yesterday evening at around 4.30 pm her leg was paining and her mother asked her elder son to get medicine.

When her brother returned at 5 pm, he found that she was vomiting; he immediately took her to the MB hospital and got her admitted to ward no. 6 where she was declared dead by the doctors, later at night, said police.

Police sources also said that after getting the information we have started the investigation.

After the postmortem the body was handed over to the family members.
