City police seems to be still far to catch the main accused of firing at Lalit Kothari, owner of M/s Empire Engineering Works at Mulla Talai Chouraha, though several numbers of suspects were detained in a police raid today.

Kothari luckily escaped the speedy attack on him yesterday evening which is believed to be an assault with the intentions of robbery.

An empty cartridge was found today outside Kothari’s shop which was handed over to police, informed, Yuvraj, son of Kothari.

Four masked men on two motorbikes attacked Kothari while he was getting inside his car, one of the suspects opened fire at Kothari twice but he escaped unhurt. The attackers are said to be aged under-20.

According to a senior police official, many areas of the city have been raided and numbers of suspects have been detained so far.
