Woman branded witch, thrashed by group of Men
A 20-year-old married woman from Village Malva Ka Chouraha, Bekariya was allegedly beaten up by a group of men, who branded her a witch. The victim was admitted in MB Hospital, Udaipur.
A 20-year-old married woman from Village Malva Ka Chouraha, Bekariya was allegedly beaten up by a group of men, who branded her a witch. The victim was admitted in MB Hospital, Udaipur.
The incident occurred on 5th Dec and a report was also lodged by the victim’s husband at Bekariya Police Station but none of the accused has been arrested yet.
Upset with no strict action taken against the accused, the woman pleaded with higher police officials today and presented a memorandum. The victim demanded a change in investigation officer of the case and called for a strict action against the accused, Tamra Garasia, Ratna Garaisa, Amra Garasia, Narayan Garasia, Lalit Garasia, Shanti Garasia and Tejki Garasia.
According to the victim’s husband, she had been subjected to verbal abuse since Navratri when the accused branded her as ill-fated after few girls of the village got sick.
On 5th Dec, the accused pulled her out of the house and started beating her with sticks. According to the victim, she was also punched and kicked badly till she fell unconscious. Her husband rushed her to nearby health center and from there she was referred to Udaipur.
