18 year old Ratan Lal Meghwal died after drowning in an over flow pond (Aniket) in Ramgiri, Badgaon. Ratan, working as labor locally, had gone for a swim to the pond with his younger brother and friends. In the heat of enthusiasm, they all decided to swim across the pond. While all the other boys managed to cross over, Ratan could not make it and drowned midway. His friends tried to save him, but when they could not, they informed Ratan’s relatives who in turn informed the Police, as told by Mangi Lal Meghwal, the investigating officer from Ambamata Police Station. The body was recovered and after confirming that Ratan was dead, the has been shifted to mortuary for postmortem.
