The four-storeyed commercial building being constructed at Saheli Nagar was targeted by UIT due to its illegal construction and was demolished in a 6-hour long operation. The building was being constructed by Saheli Nagar Development Committee’s Secretary Rajesh Mundra.

UIT Secretary Ramniwas Mehta said that despite the notice from UIT, the construction was going on. The team reached the construction site and demolished the building beginning from the roof. Due to the operation, the entry of Saheli Nagar also remained affected as the building stood at the entry of 23 ft road.

In between the operation, people staged protest, including the builder himself with other Congress workers. With the inclusion of Police in the operation, the demolition continued till 8 PM last night.
