ACB detains Patwari for Bribery
Sanjay Vaya, a patwari posted at Savina Patwar Mandal was held by a special unit of Anti Corruption Bureau of Udaipur on Tuesday afternoon at his office. He was caught taking a bribe of Rs.5000 against a mutation of a piece of land. He was arrested and rushed to the bureau's office.
Sanjay Vaya, a patwari posted at Savina Patwar Mandal was held by a special unit of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Udaipur on Tuesday afternoon at his office. He was caught taking a bribe of Rs.5000 against a mutation of a piece of land.
The incident happened after the victim Laluram Menaria of Paneriyo ki Madri reached the special unit office of ACB situated near UIT on Monday with his complaint. He told ACB about the accused patwari asking for a bribe of Rs. 6000 out of which the victim had already paid Rs. 1000 to him, two months back. This amount was asked by Sanjay Vaya against transferring a piece of land from the victim’s name to his own name, said ADSp Umesh Ojha.
Upon receiving the information from Laluram, verification of the complaint started against patwari Sanjay Vaya on Monday during which the complaint got confirmed to be authentic. The special unit team hurried to his office and arrested the accused with the amount of Rs. 5000 which he had taken from the victim, as per Ad.S.P.
The accused Sanjay Vaya had been working since 1997 and during these days he had lived at various places, while working at Savina Patwar Mandal as a patwari from the last 2 years. A team headed by CI Harish Chandra of ACB is carrying a house search.
