Hundreds and thousands of Anganwadi workers staged protest outside the Collectorate on Monday and demanded positive action towards their requirement for better job prospective.

Protestors called slogans against the Government and handed over a memorandum to the administrative officer under the banner of Anganwadi Karmchari Sangh and warned for more violent protest if their demands will be ignored.

Geeta Sharma the State President of Anganwadi Association informed that they want permanent job and also be considered as Government employees, the anganwadi employees should get minimum salary of Rs.15000 too, Geeta also said that they are protesting from last 6 months but no actions were taken in their favor. Our other demands include periodic leave; all the elderly women employees who are already retired or going to be retired should be provided a gratuity amount of Rs. 5 Lakhs and Rs. 3000 as pension.

The protesters in their memorandum also highlighted that the Government has started a process of appointing the supervisors directly on the basis of experience and in that around 25 women has to appointed but none selected yet.
