The anti-encroachment wing of UIT targeted 6-7 houses situated at Swami Nagar, Paneriyo Ki Madri. After no action was taken by the encroachers when they had received a notice in December 2014, the UIT team demolished the illegal constructions on Friday.

One of the victims whose house was demolished was Purshottam Sindhi, a tailor by profession. A major part of his house was demolished which enraged the neighbors. According to the sources, the residents had been living in that area for around 20 years.

Their houses were built on the agricultural land and were illegal construction. One of the residents of the area Yogesh Nagda claimed that the residents were given 3 hours time to vacate the houses after the UIT had already demolished one of the illegal construction.

The grieved and agitated neighbors collected themselves and reached Collector’s office. The collector considered their plea and said that he will talk to UIT secretary in this matter.
