Acting Chairperson of Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission, H.R. Kuri visited Udaipur today to address a review meeting with administrative officers. Kuri checked pending cases and thoroughly discussed about several social issues.

ADM City O.P Bunker and Ad.SP Sudhir Joshi were also present during the meeting where H.R Kuri reviewed cases related to Mautana, Child Marriages, Pension and Free Medicine Scheme.
Special emphasis was laid on the government officials and the way they respond public grievances, Kuri said that many times it was found that police officials don’t register FIR related to any cognizable offence, whereas under CRPC, there is a provision to lodge FIR immediately.
Mautana as a social bigotry was also discussed during the meeting, the Chairperson condemned the custom as a social evil and shame to the country. He said that, it is responsibility of everyone to eliminate such customs by creating awareness and education in those backward society which are still following it.
Kuri also focused on late night loud music playing during wedding ceremonies and other social events, he also said that blocking roads during protest is also a serious matter and violation of Human Rights, Police can register complaint against such people.
A public grievance hearing session was also conducted in which HR Kuri came across many cases of women exploitation.
