Chirwa Tunnel to open in August
Udaipurites will have to wait for a month more for the twin tunnel at Chirwa to finish as it is still in the last phase of construction. Out of the two tunnels, the left hand side tunnel is ready however, shut for public as the National Highway Authority will open the twins together in August.

The site head Diwakar informed that the left hand side tunnel is still undergoing construction as a lot of work, including the lining is pending. After completion of the line work, the drainage system will be developed there.
As per the records, the estimated cost of the tunnel is around Rs. 100 Crore and a team of 250 engineers and workers have been employed to bring the tunnel in shape. The first blast for the 14.5 meter broad road of tunnel was initiated on 2nd April, 2014. The left hand side tunnel is 387m long and the right tunnel is 470m.
