The MB Hospital is on its route to be completely under CCTV Monitoring. Different wards of the hospital and other access areas will be monitored by CCTV, and this will be done under the office of the Superintendent of the Hospital.

A survey is currently underway, which will facilitate the number of cameras required and the possible budget in which to complete this task.

The final report of the survey will be handed over to the Superintendent, with the installation to be completed within 60 days. This need has arisen, seeing the number of ugly incidents that have plagued the Hospital in the past, which includes altercations between patients and doctors and other anti-social activities like thefts, etc.

As per Dr. D.P. Singh, a similar task had been initiated earlier also, wherein CCTV was installed at a select few areas, but now the plan is to implement a comprehensive coverage of the entire premises, including all wards. The footage of the CCTV recording will be under the control of Dr. D.P.Singh, while the Superintendent will regularly monitor from a central location. Regular viewing will allow the Superintendent to take corrective action immediately based on evidence gathered from the footage.

CCTV will also reduce the time taken for regular rounds by the Supervisor, giving him enough time to keep an eye on house-keeping staff, as to whether the required cleanliness is being maintained or not.

More over it will also help minimizing the number of vehicle thefts from the most crowded areas of the hospital.

Currently, the work of marking the places where these cameras will be installed is going on and a special team is working on it, the report of which will be provided to the Superintendent.

The cameras will be installed at all locations in the M.B hospital, viz. Pediatric ward, Mental ward, Trauma center, Blood Bank, Outdoor, Physiotherapy Ward, Indoor Wards, etc.
