Udaipur, June 17, 2025 - On June 14 morning, Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain once again inspected the Ayad River in connection with its ongoing beautification work. He expressed displeasure with the officials for not carrying out the fencing along the river boundary, despite his earlier instructions.

The MLA directed that fencing work along the river boundary must be completed by June 30, so that the plantation work can begin. He also expressed distress upon seeing garbage dumped in the river and ordered it to be removed immediately.

A few weeks ago during an inspection of the area, MLA Jain had instructed that fencing within 20 to 30 feet inside the river boundary be pushed back to the outer boundary. The contractor working on the site had removed the inner fencing but did not install them along the boundary as instructed.

Udaipur Nagar Nigam had previously assured compliance, but when MLA Jain visited yesterday, he questioned them about the lack of fencing.

Showing displeasure at the negligence of both the officials and the contractor, Jain reiterated that fencing along the river must be completed by June 30 under any circumstance, and tree plantation should begin on both sides of the river during the monsoon season.

Officials have assured him of work completion by the given deadline.

The MLA also expressed concern upon seeing garbage on the riverbed, warning it could flow into Udaisagar during the rains, and directed that it be removed immediately.

Present during the inspection were Nagar Nigam Superintendent Engineer Mukesh Pujari, Executive Engineer Shashibala Singh and BJP leader Nanalal Vaya along with others.
