Taking a call for improved Road Engineering and management to solve the problem of traffic pressure in and around the city, a numbers of decisions were taken yesterday by officers of the local administrative body.
Officials including SP Ajaypal Lamba; Ramnivas Mehta, UIT and SI Sanjay Sharma did an inspection of Pratap Nagar Circle, Sukher ByPass and 100ft Road.
In one of the decisions, trucks carrying Sand Gravel will now stand and make a halt behind MLSU, in a pre-marked area for the purpose. Currently these trucks stand on the side of the road, causing the motorable area to get narrower.
SP Lamba said that “Some encroachments have been identified on Pratap Nagar Road and will be soon demolished. Also, some actions will be taken to optimize the road engineering in the area.”
He also added that traffic lights will be installed on the Chaurahas that are congested and without any automated traffic control and Truks/Tractors will now park behind MLSU in the open ground which is currently being used as a dumping ground.
A private bus stop stand on the main Pratap Nagar circle will also be shifted on Dabok Road.
To decrease the traffic pressure on the Bhuwana Bypass, the traffic of heavy vehicles will be diverted to the new four-lane from the next year.
