The Udaipur police department has proved to be an efficient one in the eyes of home minister Gulab Chand Kataria during the evaluation meeting held on Friday at Police line conference hall. The meeting was attended by the SPs of Udaipur and Rajsamand Districts.
Kataria while addressing the media said that it was the second phase of the performance evaluation of police department as in its first phase he has covered all the districts of Bharatpur and on Friday he had evaluated the working of Udaipur and Rajsamand police.
Kataria added that during the evaluation meeting he visited all the police stations of the districts and has taken the stock of their working style and the number of pending cases and Challan and recovery ratio. During the evaluation it came in light that the performance of Udaipur is satisfactory and appreciable as in the last 4 months there is a 12% drop in the number of cases under sections of IPC, in the cases of Chain snatching the district has created a history as out of 14 of them 12 cases have been opened and the accused has been arrested.
Besides that Udaipur has given outstanding performance in the arrest of Criminal Gangs involved in ATM loot, Highway loot and vehicle lifting; a huge number of two wheelers have also been recovered from the accused in a short span of time.
The policing of the district has been termed satisfactory as the night patrolling is also going on regularly due to which the district has succeeded in busting the racket of cheating in competitive examination as the accused had been arrested by the cops of Gogunda police station during night patrolling, Kataria added.
Kataria however, expressed concern and felt sad about the incidences of sexual assaults with minor girls. He said that all accused found involved in such shameful incidences have been arrested and soon some special arrangements will be made so that they will be punished soon for their crime.
When asked about the welfare of the police department Kataria assured that the government has allotted an amount of Rs 48 Cr for the maintenance and renovation of the quarters and other buildings belonging to police department. Not only this, soon government will sanction a budget for the construction of new residential quarters for the policemen similar to last year when 10,000 quarters were built for the family of the policemen. He will also fill the 1/3rd vacant positions of the department till December.
