During the public hearing, Jain received four complaints from the locals related to various problems faced by women.
The compliant included a case where a woman died in a private hospital recently after her pregnancy due to excessive bleeding. Her relative explained the whole incidence to Lad Kumari and blamed the doctors of the hospital for being negligent towards their work. They also demanded strict legal action against the doctors.
Lad Kumari while addressing the media added, “A case of Dowry torture was also put in front, which is already registered at Mahila Police Station of the city. I also received a case of a minor girl being kidnapped by a boy 2 month’s back. All the complaints have been registered and soon they will be taken care of by the Commission.”
While talking about her visit, Lad Kumari said that she came to verify an incidence of a custodial death which took place at a police station of Swaroopganj area. Soon after that, she moved towards few identified areas of Sirohi district where Red Light areas are developing.
Kumari further explaining her visits to various red light areas and informed, “I initiated the visits of these areas to know the condition of the girls involved in this trade.”
Showing concern about the present conditions, Lad Kumari stated that cases of gang rapes and kidnapping are increasing swiftly. As per the records, between January 2012 to June 2014, the commission received around 110 cases of minor girls being kidnapped.
After visiting the identified areas of Sirohi and Mount Abu which are developing as red light areas, now she will cover the area of Karoli, Dholpur and Bharatpur. She will visit the remote villages and try to spread awareness among the villagers about hazards of these types of works.
