JC Mohanti, Principal Secretary. Heath conducted a sudden inspection of MB Hospital this morning.  During the surprise visit, he conducted an inspection of all under construction buildings in the hospital and reviewed the design and structure. 

Mohanti also took stock of the maintenance work done by the Hospital staff.  In his conversation with media he said that the Government allocated a budget of Rs. 80 Crore towards development and maintenance of the Medical college and Hospital so that all gaps were identified and corrective action is taken.

Further, Mohanti said that soon new auditoriums & libraries, hostels, etc will be made for the students and many other expansion projects will be done in future.  Since the space available was limited, optimal utilization by undertaking priority projects should be done.

Moreover, if any donation or corporate wanting to donate comes forward, the administration must ensure that the correct areas are identified and that proper civil design needs to be incorporated to utilize space optimally.

Mohanti appreciated that after  today’s inspection he found that the work is being done with good speed and it will be completed till December 2015.

Principal Secretary emphasised on proper arrangements to corrrect the lose wiring like ones outside the Children hospital, Outdoor, etc.  He also instructed the officials of PWD to repair the walls and ceilings of the Medical College building & hospital as soon as possible.

During his inspection he all talked to some patients asked them about the services of the hospital, rates charged for various services, etc.

On his visit to the outdoor department he also instructed the cleaning staff to clean walls of the hospital as they were getting dirty due to people spitting on the walls, etc.

Mohanti has met the resident doctors and listen to their grievances related to PG hostel.

At the end he instructed the Principal of RNT Medical College to form a committee, which will look after the infrastructure of all the wards and Medical college from time to time.

During his inspection he was accompanied by Dr D.P Singh Superintendent; Principal RNT Medical college, Chandra Mathur & XEn’s of PWD & RSEB and Heads of all the departments.

Soon after the inspection Mohanti took a meeting of all HODs at Administrative office.
