At least a dozen of medicine shops of the city were raided by the Medicine Regulatory Department of Udaipur on Wednesday.

In the sudden drive which was carried out by the department on the orders of the Health Minister; registered pharmacists were not found on four of the shops and at some other shops bill books were not found in order.
In the department’s raid today, 8 medicine shops at Hiran Magri and 4 shops at Dabok were inspected, said Suresh Samar, Asst. Medicine Regulator.
At some of the pharmaceutical shops, samples of the medicines were also taken under suspicion. These samples will be sent to the lab for verification and if anything is found wrong with the samples, then action will be taken against the shop owner for keeping them on sale, said Samar.
The drive will continue for 3 more days and thereafter the final report will be sent to the Department.
