They reasoned that every year while the custom is carried out, people engage in fights. And since it is not compulsory according Islam, they have decided to avoid it rather than carry it out in this manner.
On the occasion Shabir Qureshi, Secretary of Nau Jawan Intezamiya Committee, Rahim Baksh Patel President of N.J.I, Jaan Mohammad, Sadar Kum Naykaan, Shabir Qureshi, President of Nujawan Intejamia Committee and Zahir Hussain, Maha Sachiv BJP Alpsankhiyak Morcha etc were present at the Collectorate.
On the memorandum, Vikas Bhale said, “Banning the custom is the matter of the community, but since they have submitted a memorandum to me, I will look into it and take an administrative decision”.
On the other hand, a meeting was held at the Paltan Masjid, Chetak circle organized by the Faije Hussain Committee.
According to Majeed Khan, President of the Faije Hussain Committee, “We have decided that a memorandum will also be presented form our side to HariPrasad Sharma and Vikas Bhale demanding the arrest of culprits of yesterday’s assault at Paltan Masjid. We will not move the Muharram even a single inch until their arrests”.
