A meeting of various community representatives; members of various societies and institutions in and around Udaipur was organised today at the Mewar Kshatriya Mahasabha office. The single point agenda was the cumulative approach towards a movement demanding a separate State status for the Mewar Vagad division; primarily the declaration of Mewar as a separate state.

The initial strategic steering committee was formulated in the meeting today, where Rajya Sabha MP, V.P. Singh was appointed as the Convener of the strategic body and the movement.

Singh, in his address to the participants said, “Soon, other members will be appointed in the whole division and there will be formal bodies in different regions of the Mewar Vagad area, which will prepare and work towards implementing the plan of action in this direction.”

He also added that, “The struggle to get Mewar declared as a separate will stretch through a much longer span, in which financial, intellectual and moral support is mandated from all communities, societies and institutional bodies of the region.”

“The movement will be incepted at Udaipur and will gradually include people from relatively closer areas”, he said.

Manohar Singh Krishnawat, an educationist, and a member of the Strategic Steering Committee said, “The Committee will work with the support of all the institutions and regional social groups. The meetings with all representatives of these social and business groups will be conducted soon. We will also be regularly meeting them individually to augment support for the movement”.

The meeting included, among hundreds of other well known personalities, Balu Singh Kanawat, Tej Singh Bansi, Onkar Singh Rathor, Rajendra Singh Jagat, Vaidhya Shivnarayan Vyas, Satyanarayan Chaubisa, Bharat Sharma, Dr. OP Mahatma, Kailash Sharma, Chandraveer Singh Jagatpura, Vijaysingh Kachhava, Kamal Singh, etc.

VP Singh will also be meeting other well known personalities of the city today, to garner support and ideas to take the movement forward.
