Muslim Community presents Memorandum against compulsion of Surya Namaskar

The representatives of Jag Nagrik Seva Samiti, Muslim Life Care Association and Anjuman Talimul Islam and other Muslim associations of Udaipur presented a memorandum on Friday to the administrative officer in the name of Chief Minister over the issue of making Surya Namaskar (Yoga Asana) compulsory for students at all the Government Model School.

The protesters in their Memorandum to the administration mentioned that they are against the decision of making Surya Namaskar compulsory for all the students of the Government schools irrespective of their religious beliefs, said Akhtar Ali Siddique founder of Jag Nagrik.

The members of J.N.S.S have also mentioned that the new decision of State Government of introducing a new compulsory concept of doing Surya Namaskar during their morning Assembly in every model school is not a wise decision as per the religious freedom of the minorities.

As per their religious beliefs they only offer prayers to Allah so that they cannot follow the order of the governments of bending their heads in front of the Sun, Akhtar Ali added.

Further the J.N.S.S members and Muslim Life Care Association demanded to reconsider the decision taken by the State Education Minister and also to cancel it. They also mentioned that all of them are hoping that a right decision will be taken by CM so that all can live like a family.
