If sources to be believed then in next few days, senior passport officers are arriving in Udaipur to inspect and coordinate local subordinates regarding goods and furniture to be installed in the new passport office which is going to open in Udaipur soon.

On 3rd Feb, Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs also replied to a person on twitter saying that the proposal of passport office in Udaipur is approved, Sushma Swaraj also greeted him saying, Be Happy!

According to the Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari, everything is now depending upon higher officials from Foreign Ministry, once the work is started then it will be done very quickly. Community Center at Patho ki Magri, Subhash Nagar is allotted for Passport office.

Udaipurites are struggling hard to get passport office as currently Udaipur Region has no passport service and all including people from Udaipur, Banswara and Wagad areas are going to Jodhpur for any passport related work.

With the beginning of year 2016, Udaipur received position in top 20 Smart Cities of India and now going to get Passport Office.
