A team of top officials from Ajmer Railway department visited Udaipur today regarding the pilot project of Railways under NREGA.

The team had a meeting with local administrative officers including District Collector and had discussion during which 100 project works related to Udaipur Railways were finalized for execution.

The project includes repairing of concrete sleepers and approach roads of the station, repairing of railway barriers ( Road Crossings), Removal Weeds (wild plants ) from the railway lands and plantation of new trees and construction of drainages parallel to the railway track with  motive of avoiding the accumulation of rain water around the tracks .

Along with all these works two projects including connecting the nearby villages to railway station & strengthening of road crossing will be done at Gram Panchayat level and the other development works will be done at city level, informed District Collector.

Executive Engineer Zila Parishad, Anil Achalia said, “Cleaning of Railway stations and constructing walls near the road crossings to avoid any sort of accident were suggested by Udaipur administration and letter of the two suggestions will be soon send to Railway department.”

“A team of 7 Junior engineers and 1 Assistant Engineer will be trained for the project,” said Anil Anchalia.
