Rajasthan Health Department on Alert Over Seasonal Diseases

Sept 2, 2026 - Under the direction of Rajasthan's Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar, the Health Department is continuously monitoring the situation regarding seasonal diseases across Rajasthan. Principal Secretary, Medical and Health, Gayatri Rathore said that the department is fully alert to ensure effective prevention and control of seasonal diseases. She said that continuous monitoring is being carried out at the field level for the prevention, early detection and timely treatment of seasonal diseases.

Rathore has directed that 24×7 control rooms be kept active and fully operational in all districts, with special surveillance of swine flu along with malaria, dengue, chikungunya and scrub typhus. She also issued instructions for the formation of Rapid Response Teams and regular monitoring at every level so that immediate and effective action can be taken in the event of any outbreak.

During a review meeting held through video conferencing at the Health Bhawan on Tuesday, September 1, Director of Public Health Dr Ravi Prakash Sharma reviewed seasonal diseases, the TB-Free India campaign, self-monitoring, the functioning of medical institutions and various other issues. He instructed officials to remain particularly vigilant in view of swine flu and to ensure the availability of essential medicines up to the sub-health centre level.

Dr Sharma said that activities such as door-to-door surveys, anti-larval measures, anti-adult measures and source reduction should be carried out continuously. Along with regular monitoring of these activities, special focus should be placed on vulnerable and highly affected areas, he directed.
