Resident Doctor’s strike severely Affecting Patients

Due to the continuing strike of the Junior Resident Doctors of the MB Hospital, Udaipur, the hospital has now started facing major losses and the patients are also suffering.

The strike that started on 9th of July, because of the alleged accusations on the resident doctors of the MB hospital who were said to have misbehaved and then physically assaulted Jitendra Singh Chauhan, a patient’s relative, is still not resolved.

 

UPDATE: Resident Doctors are off the strike and back to their normal routine from tonight.

Resident Doctor’s strike severely Affecting PatientsDue to the continuing strike of the Junior Resident Doctors of the MB Hospital, Udaipur, the hospital has now started facing major losses and the patients are also suffering.

The strike that started on 9th of July, because of the alleged accusations on the resident doctors of the MB hospital who were said to have misbehaved and then physically assaulted Jitendra Singh Chauhan, a patient’s relative, is still not resolved (full news).

Chauhan, who had come to the hospital on 8th July at 9:30 in the evening along with his mother, Indira Kumar who had complaints about her health was allegedly attacked by the Resident Doctors present in the emergency ward.

The Protestors are demanding the arrest of Jitendra Singh Chauhan by the Udaipur Police or they will continue the strike and not return to their duty in the emergency ward and other wards of the hospital.

While defending Chauhan, the Kshatriya Mahasabha in a joint effort with the Rajput Community has presented a memorandum to the Divisional Commissioner, Subodh Kumar Agrawal today demanding the suspension of the accused resident doctors.

They also asked the Commissioner to ensure that no such incident happens in the future and the culprits should not be allowed to strike.

Commissioner said “We are looking over the matter and we also had a meeting regarding the issue today. We will be taking a decision very soon.”

Since the strike, many wards in the hospital have been affected especially the Emergency Ward. The patients in the hospital are severely suffering due to the lack of staff and are also being forced to approach private institutes.

According to sources, no medical tests including, CT Scan, ECHO, TNT, HOLDER, and Sonography are being processed in the hospital at the moment.

The emergency ward of MB hospital on 8th July registered 630 Patients and a collection Rs. 2400 was made. Due to the strike, the hospital was able to only operate 490 patients and collected Rs. 1700 yesterday. Today, only 270 patients came in for treatment so far.
