The 27^th Road Safety Week has started from today with several awareness activities conducted by local administration, nonprofit organizations and business groups. During the whole week Traffic Department will encourage motorists to follow rules through several activities like street plays, rallies etc.

Richhpal Singh Jhagad DSP Traffic Police informed that beside carrying out awareness programs, traffic cops will also go strict with people who don’t follow traffic regulations, especially those who park vehicles in no parking areas.

To inaugurate the program, a rally was flagged off by Prakash Singh Rathore (Additional Transport Officer). Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari, RTO Mannalal Rawat, DTO Lalit Choudhary, DyS.P Soubhagya Singh and Traffic in charge Narpat Singh Rawal were also present on the occasion.

Special Helpline Number of Women

A special helpline number 1098 was also launched today by Road Transport Department for women commuters. The number will be pasted on every auto rickshaw of city. Women can call on this helpline number in case of any misbehavior or incident during the journey.
