With the beginning of yet another Road Safety Week, the Udaipur police has come up with new way to induce people to follow traffic rules. This time, the offenders will be familiarized with the traffic rules in two-hour long special classes.

Seeing the increasing number of road accident in the state the decision of traffic orientation or classes was taken by the core committee of Supreme Court. Following the decision the driving license and registration certificates of the vehicles of those found breaching the traffic rules including not wearing helmets while driving 2-wheeler, not wearing seat belt while driving cars, taking on mobile phones while driving and avoiding traffic lights would be seized for 3 days to 3 months.

Besides these, the traffic rules’ offenders would be given the timing and date of the traffic class on the spot. Moreover it will be a mandate for the offenders to attend the classes where a documentary film will be screened talking about the benefits of following traffic rules.

Raja Ram Meena, DySP Traffic Police said that the traffic safety week will continue till October 2 during which the RTO and traffic police will put their efforts to educate people about benefits of traffic rules as well as the hazards of not following them.

The joint team will also keep an eye on all those people that intentionally ignore the traffic rules. During this week along with the traffic rules breaches the department will also do the inspection of the school buses, auto rickshaws etc.
