Roadways strike continues, commuters face difficulties

Agitated towards the Road Transport and Safety Bill 2015 and the decision of privatization of Roadways Department by the Union Government, the employees of the department remained on strike on Thursday.

Agitated towards the Road Transport and Safety Bill 2015 and the decision of privatization of Roadways Department by the Union Government, the employees of the department remained on strike on Thursday.

With this around 130 buses of Rajasthan State Roadways Transport Corporation of Udaipur Depot will remain closed till the midnight.

As a part of the state level protest of the Roadways employees, more than 800 such employees staged protest at the compound of the roadways bus stand of the city.

This is considerable that besides 130 buses of Udaipur Depot around 500 buses which move from different districts were also affected due to the strike.

Later in the afternoon, the protesters handed over a memorandum to the Additional District Magistrate Choga Ram Devasi regarding their demands.

During the strike, the people commuting from one place to another due to wedding season faced lot of challenges.
