A two day hearing was held under the SIMI Tribunal session at the Zila Parishad premises in the District Collectorate premises.

The session on day two today was spent on reviewing an affidavit filed by three persons from Bhilwara, all senior citizens.

As per Advocate Mubin Akhtar, SIMI Lawyer in the Supreme Court, the three people were reportedly served notices by Bhilwara Police and were alleged to have connections with SIMI. Their affidavit claims otherwise and they have provided proof of non involvement in any activity related to SIMI in their affidavit. There is also no proof of their registration with SI, which was officially suspended in 2001, Mubin said.

After the hearing and resulting deliberations, the senior police officers of Bhilwara Police have been instructed to report to the authority in Delhi, post which the next set of sessions will take place. They have asked to specify the reasons for having served the notices to the three persons.

The next session of this round is set to take place in Mysore on 6-7 May.
