Civic and Administrative bodies of Udaipur started preparing for the coming up challenges after getting qualified for the top 20 Cities of India under Smart City Project by Central Government. Now Udaipur needs to get into the final 10 cities to get into the complete infrastructural make over.

Siddharth Sihag, Commissioner of Udaipur Municipal Corporatoion informed that they will focus on two major components viz Area Based and Pan City Components under which they will do several works of road repairing, drainage system, traffic management, Transportation Facilities etc.

Sihag said that “Udaipurites are very supportive and cooperative, people here easily adopt new developments and features introduced by administration so that ease our work”.

Chandra Singh Kothari thanked the government for selecting the city, he also thanked people for their efforts and wishes.

When asked about UMC’s priorities, Chandra Singh Kothari said that safe drinking water, developing sewerage plants and maintenance of heritage buildings of the city are our priorities, besides that cleanliness will also be taken care off under the Swatch Bharat Mission.
