The Collectorate at Delhi Gate saw some unexpected action yesterday, when a thief tried to escape from the clutches of the Police and jumped over a wall. The police though soon nabbed him as he was trying to get down from a tree.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the thief Mohammad Siraj, resident of Udaipur was arrested by Pratap Nager Police as he tried to steal batteries from a shop in Khempura.

He was brought to the MOV Centre in the Collectorate for recording his finger prints and other identification marks, a regular process done by the Police.

It was when the cops were taking him to the MOV Centre, that he broke loose and tried to jump over a wall of the Collectorate. While he was alighting a tree near the wall, he was re-captured by the cops.
