Udaipur Fights Mosquito Menace; Cleanliness Drive Every Saturday
Joint campaign - Swasthya Dal Aapke Dwar - to be conducted by Udaipur Nagar Nigam and Health Department
Udaipur, Aug 8, 2025 - To prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases in the city, Udaipur Nagar Nigam has launched campaign Swasthya Dal Aapke Dwar (Health Team at Your Doorstep). This campaign is being organised under the joint initiative of the Nagar Nigam and the Health Department.
Nigam Commissioner Abhishek Khanna said that the campaign aims to raise awareness among citizens about the precautions to be taken to prevent mosquito-borne diseases. As part of this special drive, people will be encouraged to ensure that water does not stagnate around their homes.
Activities Under the Campaign
Commissioner Khanna informed that every Saturday, teams from the Nagar Nigam and the Health Department will conduct public awareness activities along with cleanliness drives.
To prevent mosquito breeding, MLO oil will be sprayed in areas where water is accumulated to stop mosquito larvae from developing. Open drains throughout the city will be cleaned regularly.
Many city residents have placed water containers outside their homes for dogs and other animals — these containers will also be cleaned regularly as part of the campaign.
Health Inspectors Appointed
Commissioner Khanna said that Health Officer Satyanarayan Sharma has been instructed to remain particularly vigilant in this campaign. In addition, Health Inspector Narendra Shrimali has been appointed as Sector In-charge for Sectors 1 to 5, and Subhash Chandra Sharma as Sector In-charge for Sectors 6 to 10. They will coordinate with the Health Department and carry out mosquito prevention activities every Saturday.
