In the 4-day District Collectors-SPs conference organized by the state government which begun on Wednesday, two major demands including conversion of 12 Km Pratap Nagar-Balicha bypass into 4-lane highway road and development of Ayad River were considered by the officials. Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria also supported these demands in the conference.

During the conference, the district collector Rohit Gupta highlighted the danger of accidents on the Pratap Nagar-Balicha bypass due to high frequency of heavy vehicles on the constricted road which leads to mishaps. He urged for the conversion to avoid further accidents and for that demanded budget as well.

Besides this, the collector during the conference emphasizes that a proposal of Rs. 87 Crore has been sent to the government for the development of Ayad River. In such a scenario, the sanction of budget by the government will lead to beautification, development and safety of the prominent river on a wide scale.

Udaipur on the other hand, was praised by CM Vasundhara Raje for being in the list of the cleanest cities of the state as a part of Swachya Bharat Abhiyan and also pleaded others to follow suit. While addressing the conference, CM said that by year 2018, the state will become free from open defecation problem for which effective monitoring of the anti-open defecation drive needs to be accelerated.

CM highlighted Udaipur as a set example for other district collectors to follow to help make their areas banners, posters and sewage free.
