The Anti-Encroachment Team of UIT removed encroachment from Shobhagpura and freed 9 Bigha land belonging to the trust on Saturday morning.

Led by District Collector Rohit Gupta, a team of UIT officials including UIT Secretary R.N Mehta rushed to the area at around 7 AM along with 8 JCBs, police force, Home Guard jawans and initiated the demolishing process of the illegally acquired land. Few mobile shops and Panchayat Bhawan was removed that was illegally constructed.

UIT Secretary R.N Mehta informed that the area between Shobhagpura and Mahapragya Vihar is UIT’s land that was illegally acquired by the locals since a long time. The shopkeepers were served notice previously but the instructions were not followed. Seeing the negligence in compliance of the UIT’s orders, the legal action was taken.

Mehta further added that the piece of land was under Devsthan Vibhag, later taken over by UIT. The land will now be used to construct Community Health Center for the benefit of the people.
