UMC Election 2014: Contestants file nominations
On the second last day of the nomination filing process, a huge crowd of candidates and their supporters were seen outside the collectorate office today on 10th November.

Both the prominent political parties of the country issued respective list of the candidates on Sunday for the Udaipur Municipal Corporation Elections in 55 wards.
On Monday, for the 55 wards, 24 candidates filled their nominations, which also included independent candidates. The 3 names which are coming forward for the position of the new Mayor of the city are Paras Singhvi (BJP), Chander Singh Kothari and Lokesh Dwedhi.
The candidates who filled their nomination on Monday are Anil Kumar Mali (ward 48), Ghanshyam Nagda (ward 32), Bagdi Lal (ward 19), Rameshwar Bhatt (ward 26), Tara Devi Rao (ward 31), Durga Devi Gameti (ward 33), Rajendra Vasita (ward 16), Damodar Kumawat (ward 1), Kesar Devi (ward 37), Jitendra Singh (ward 19), Sunil Rathore (ward 6), Pankaj Paliwal (ward 10), Zubeda Beghum (ward 46), Anita Porwal (ward 45) and Harshwardhan Singh Kelawat (Ward 1).
The independent candidates who filled their nominations this time where those who were serving the parties before but left out due to negligence. Yashwant Menaria (ward 22), Mohanlal Menaria (ward 22) and Kanak Kumar Joshi (ward 22) who were serving BJP for years came up as independent candidates as they were not given ticket from the party. Other rebels like Rashid Khan filled his nomination as independent from ward 14 who was with Congress. Also Bagdi Lal (ward 19) and Asif Hussain (ward 4) who remained active members of Congress before are now independent candidates.
The candidates have one more day to file their nominations as the voting will held on 22nd November and the results will be declared on 25th November.
