A 10 day national fair and exhibition on handicrafts items will start from 16 March at the Town Hall where many artisans and craftsmen from all over the country will gather. The fair is organized by Development Commission (Handicraft) and the Central Government.

The fair is organized by Development Commission (Handicraft) and the Central Government.

It is the second year of Gandhi Shilp Bazar which will be inaugurated on Friday evening by Rajni Dangi, Chairman of Municipal Council.

In the Press Conference today, Z.A Khan, Executive Director of RUDA (Rural non Farm Development Agency) informed that the fair will comprise of more than 150 stalls exhibiting various hand made products by the craftsmen from different cities. The fair will start at 2pm and will continue till 8pm.

He also said that the main motive of organizing the events is to provide a wider platform to the craftsmen across the country.

B.L Meena, Asst.Director of Development Commission (Handicraft) said that the traditional craftsmen from U.P, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Assam, Orissa, Rajasthan, Haryana etc. will participate in the fair.

He also informed that this year the fair will be decorated in the traditional manner and there would be special prizes for the Best Craftsmen, Best Stall etc.

While talking to media, Khan said, “With the association of gathering and business of the artisans, we will consider the parameter of the success of the event.”
