Preparation of Eid Milad starts in the city
A celebrative buzz has been sensed in the Muslim pockets of the city as Milad-un-Nabi (Birthday of Prophet Muhammad) is approaching closer. Muslim colonies are fabulously adorned with lights and colorful decorations; Islamic Flags are raised on top of the residents. Preparations of Naath, Mehfils and community feasts take place to welcome the auspicious day of Milad on 5th February.

Muslim colonies are fabulously adorned with lights and colorful decorations; Islamic Flags are raised on top of the residents. Preparations of Naath, Mehfils and community feasts take place to welcome the auspicious day of Milad on 5th February.
Muhammad Asif, resident of Pannadhay Marg said that “the decoration of our area have started since Chand Raat, from lighting of the houses to placing of the green colored flags. We have also arranged special sound system to play Naaths, devotional songs, and also installed a counter for coffee and tea for visitors.”
Muhammad Zaki from the same area said that an elegant ‘Bengali Gate’ worth rupees Rs.25000 is also under process which will be the centre of attraction of this area. Along with this, a mass community feast is also arranged with a program of Mehfil organized by the Hanfi Raza Committee on the day of Milad-un-Nabi.
Mohsin Khan with his friends from Chittore ka Timba area at Jaat Wari contributed Rs.200 from each resident of the locality and decided to decorate the area with roses. “We have also arranged food items for the poor which will distributed after the Milaad procession” said Mohsin.
Aftab Husain from Zakir Husain Marg said, “In our area, entire decoration is initiated by the boys of 14 -16 years of age known as Madni Group. They are also planning for a huge cake which will be cut before morning Namaaz on Eid Milad day at the Kaar Wari Mosque.”
One of the members of Al-Nawaz Committee Dholi Bawri, Ashfaq Husain told UT, “besides all decorations we are also preparing a mass community feast.”
Jameel Ahmed Khan, Principal of Anjuman Secondary School informed that there will a 2 days program on the occasion of the Prophet’s Birth celebration. On the first day a Mehfil of devotional songs that will be sung by various narrators is going to be held. On the second day the religious sermons will be presented by various Islamic scholars.
