Contribution and Challenges of Media Discussed in The Seminar

A seminar was organized by Rajasthan Media Action Forum on the topic “Contribution and Challenges of Media” at Nehru Hostel to pay tribute to Dr. Bhanwar Surana. The main topics discussed at the seminar included sanctity, urbaneness, honesty and truthfulness in journalism. These points were also pointed out by MP Raghuveer Singh Meena in his speech.

He also added that, “It is necessary to conduct discussion on the on the social life of the journalists. If the journalists are unbiased, honest and trustworthy then their journalism will help in creating a healthy society and they will be able to present a role model for the society.”

Veer Saxena, Forum’s senior journalist and advisory said, “The forum is independent and unbiased. It works without any financial and political pressure and has taken the responsibility to up bring the field of journalism at district level.”

Nand Chaturvedi, a renowned author who president over the seminar said, “The media should take care of their reliability; as reliability is the biggest challenge in the field of journalism.

“Forum’s last 50 years were the years when many developments took place in the field of journalism and the interference of the media in the social matter has also increased.” He further added

Sanjay Guar, a Journalist from Print and Electronic Media said, “The reporters working in the cities were provided with ample facilities, but the reporters working in rural areas don’t receive the same, so forum has to become a platform to deal with this and to remove this difference.”

In his speech Bal Yogi Umesh Nath, Guest Saint from M.P said, “Today the nation is admiring media due to the fact that a reporter is a thoughtful person and has responsibility to bring reforms and create a healthy environment in the society.”

Prior to this Aavesh Tiwari, journalist from Sonbhadra U.P said, “If we want to maintain the importance of Democracy then the reporters has to honestly work for the betterment of the society.” He also emphasized on the honest behavior and work ethics of journalists to bring up the society.
