Three mothers of Udaipur were honored today for the great work done by their children in the field of education at the Jagdish Chowk School near Jagdish Mandir, under the banner of Vishwa Shanku Sewa Sansthan, Udaipur.
Naeem Mustafa, son of Barkat Begum, one of the recipients, is a resident of Mulla Talai and has cleared the IAS entrance this year.
On this occasion, Barkat Begum shared the hardships she had gone through over the last 20 years, subsequent to her husbands death. Her children were very young at that time; Naeem was 8 years old.
She also shared that after her husband passed away, there was considerable pressure on her family from the society as there was no one else to give them financial support.
She further added that she struggled to ensure a good environment and education for her 5 children to facilitate a bright future for them.
“Inspite of being told over the years that my children would be non-achievers, I am feeling very proud that today I am honored by the School and the Vishwa Shanku Sewa Sansthan all because of my children’s good work”.
Along with Barkat Begum, 2 more ladies, Kamla Rathore and Lalita Salvi, both of whom belong to very poor families were honored for their daughter’s achievement of being listed in the District merit list last year.
At the end of the program, all the teachers present there along with more than 500 students of the school took an oath to save the girl child and abstain from female feticide.
