Telecom Association goes stricter for issuing SIM Cards

Mobile sim cards won’t be issued on the name of any customer until the customer is present physically for verification. Many other important decisions were taken today, in the general meeting of Udaipur Telecom Association.

 

Telecom Association goes stricter for issuing SIM CardsMobile SIM Cards will no longer be issued to anyone unless the customer is physically present for verification of identity. This was among the major important decisions taken today, in the General Meeting of the Udaipur Telecom Association.

The meeting was held under the directions of Rajiv Mehta, President of the association at Shriji Vatika, Madri Industrial Area.

The main concern of the meeting was to strengthen security measures and to impede all loopholes in issuing mobile SIM cards.

The topics, including methods of mobile SIM card activation, photo and identity proof verification, increasing the quality of customer service were discussed and decisions were taken.

According to Tarun Jain, secretary of the association, more than 40 retailers and distributors of Udaipur participated in the meeting. The members decided not to issue pre-activated SIM to the customer and made it compulsory for retailers to go through the application letter and customer has to sign it in front of the retailer.

Members also discussed on business perspective of mobile recharge coupons etc.

Udaipur Telecom Association (UTA) came into existence in the year 2010.
