In order to provide pure drinking water to the people of Udaipur, the Vedanta-Hindustan Zinc & Rotary Club collaborative ATM Mineral Water Project gets under way after Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria inaugurated the first ATM kiosk at Saheliyon ki Badi. The other two kiosks were inaugurated by him on live.

During the ceremony, he stated that both the organizations should install such kiosks at Bus Stand, Railway Station and other tourist spots for the availability of pure, safe drinking water.

Hindustan Zinc issued Rs. 70 Crore for the development required in the city, primarily for the Ayad River to become sewer free in the next 3 years.

Various points were highlighted by Kataria including saving water, beautification of Kala Kiwad over flow till Panchwati, enhance traffic management and cleanliness at and around tourist spots.

The chief guest CEO-Hindustan Zinc Akhilesh Joshi emphasized that HZL with the help of administration will install two STP plants.

Special guest Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari said that the general public participation is required to make Udaipur into Smart City. Collector Rohit Gupta further added to this notion saying that a continuous effort is required both from general public as well as administration to strive for excellent development of the city after being considered for Smart City.

Hansraj Choudhary of Rotary Club informed that around 25-30% of occurrence of stomach related diseases will subside after the installation of clean drinking water kiosks. Also the club will put up 7 more kiosks this month itself.
