Centuries old temple of Annapurana Mata at Ghanta Ghar has become center of attraction today on the occasion of Navratri as the devotees have dressed the Goddess Annapurna with heavily bedecked outfit, embedded with jewels and ornaments.

Approximately 10,500 imitation diamonds are set in the dress made on silver base and finally covered with gold plate. The weight of the dress is 3kg while the size of the idol is 6 inch.

Kundan Chouhan, one of the senior members of Annapurana Mata Dharm Utsav Samaroh Samiti informed that all the Samiti members with the help of local shopkeepers and residents decided to make a beautiful outfit for the idol as the Samiti completes its 25 years of service to the temple.

The temple is 300 years old and is located inside the police station of Ghanta Ghar.

“It took more than four months to make this beautiful outfit by many goldsmiths of the area. The cost of the outfit is around Rs.5.25 Lac which was jointly funded by Samiti members and other devotees” said Chouhan.

A large number of devotees are visiting the temple today on the occasion of Navratri festival.
