Krishna Janmashtami celebration begins

On the occasion of Janmashtami which is on 28th Sept, members of the local religious group Shiv Dal organized a rally in the city.

Rally consisted of religious tableaus, children dressed like Lord Krishna and Shiva carried by camel cart and members of akhadas showing defense skills started from Hareshwar Mahadev Mandir, Chandpol and passed through many areas of the city.

On the occasion of Janmashtami which is on 28th Sept, members of the local religious group Shiv Dal organized a rally in the city.

Rally consisted of religious tableaus, children dressed like Lord Krishna and Shiva carried by camel cart and members of akhadas showing defense skills started from Hareshwar Mahadev Mandir, Chandpol and passed through many areas of the city.

The rally concluded at the same place in Chandpol with a community feast.

Tomorrow the program of ‘matki fod’ will be conducted at Netaji Subhash Chandra Boss chouraha. Six teams will participate in break the earthen pot hanging at 26 feet height. The winner team will be rewarded with cash prize. Cake cutting ceremony will be also done.

Preparations in two main temples of the city, Jagdish Mandir and Asthal Mandir, have also started for the celebration which will start from 27 and will continue till 29 Aug. Jagdish Temple will also observe a grand Matki Fod competition.

Beautiful tableaus representing the life of Lord Krishna will be placed at Asthal Mandir. For the last 50 years, artists from Jhalor District are designing tableaus at Asthal Mandir.
