Almost all social and religious groups of the city contributed in the grand procession today on the occasion of Maharana Pratap’s 474^th Birth Anniversary. The procession showcased the historical accomplishment of Maharana Pratap and his allies.

Before starting the procession, hundreds of people gathered at Pratap Smarak, Moti Magri and offered flowers on the monument of Maharana Pratap.

Many prominent people were present on the occasion including Arjunlal Meena (MP), Rajni Dangi (Mayor UMC), Dinesh Bhatt (BJP District President), Phool Singh Meena (MLA), Dharm Narayan Joshi, Kailash Manav, Tej Singh Bansi, Balu Singh Kanawat, Manohar Singh Krishnawat, Ghanshyam Singh Krishnawat, Dr. Rajendra Singh Jagat, Dilip Singh Bansi, Kamlendra Singh Panwar, Pramod Samar etc.

Highlights of procession

The procession was led by 400 bike riders dressed in the traditional attire, while the ‘muchchad’ club was riding on camel, tricks exhibited by horses, a group of 50 women marching, police band, life size monument of Maharana Pratap, Photo of Eklingnath, tableaus of Om Banna, Narayan Seva, Shivdal Mewar, Environment awareness etc. Wrestlers of many akhadas presented their strength and physical skills like sword fighting, javelin show, holding bicycle with jaws etc.

Rajesh Bhardwaj, additional S.P (City) garlanded the statue of Pratap while the procession passed through Surajpol Police Chowki.

Procession was welcomed in all areas by the local groups. All religious and social groups welcomed the procession by offering sweets and cold drinks.
