The Udaipur city and the entire district held various religious and cultural functions on the day of Lord Ganesha Visarjan. The city roads were filled with people carrying the idols to be immersed in water bodies.
On the day if Anant Chaturdashi, the devotees flocked to temples including BOhra Ganesh Ji, Jada Ganesh Ji, Pala Ganesh Ji and Dudhiya Ganesh Ji.
However, the administration and the police force deployed at various areas restricted people to immerse the statues in the water bodies. After the issue of order by Supreme Court that restricts immersion of statues in the lakes, this step was taken and police force remained alert at Gangaur Ghat, Fateh Sagar, Udai Sagar, Dudh Talai and Goverdhan Sagar. At many places, people were allowed to place the statues at the banks instead of immersing.
The previous day, many tableaus were installed at parts of the city where the devotees gathered and indulged in traditions.
