In series of arresting accused carrying illegal weapons, Police in Kotra arrested a man with two pistols and three live bullets.

The accused Bharat Kumar Prajapat is a self proclaimed doctor and resident of Lambia Village located on the border of Rajasthan and Gujarat. Prajapat said that, he purchased these guns for his safety.

The name of the accused came to light during the interrogation of Chetan Kumar Bumbadia who was arrested by the police with illegal pistols on 6^th April 2014. Chetan informed the police that he sold the pistols to Bharat for Rs. 20,000 each, and was in contact since then.

S.P Ajaypal Lamba said, “Most of the weapons seized from different accused are brought from Khargon village of M.P.”

“Since first month of the year, 37 cases have been registered at various police stations of the District. 57 accused are arrested with 35 illegal pistols,” S.P added.

Unfolding more facts about the nexus of illegal weapons, S.P informed that investigation during the anti weapon drive it came to light that there are some villages where families are dealing in manufacturing of weapons and selling them.

S.P said, “Most of the hardcore accused whom we arrest get out on bail and again start their illegal activities.” Pointing towards the accused Shravan Kumar and Muzaffar, S.P Lamba said that, there are more suspects involved illegal weapon trade in the district and soon they we will be caught.
