10 Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for 2009 Murder

Ten out of Twelve accused have been convicted of murdering Kuldeep Singh on 2nd May 2009 at Sector 14, and sent to life imprisonment by Udaipur’s Fast Track Court-1 today. Rekha Bhargava, Upper District and Session Judge, has given the judgment according to the witnesses, proofs and proximity of the case.

Ten out of Twelve accused have been convicted of murdering Kuldeep Singh on 2nd May 2009 at Sector 14, and sent to life imprisonment by Udaipur’s Fast Track Court-1 today.

Rekha Bhargava, Upper District and Session Judge, has given the judgment according to the witnesses, proofs and proximity of the case.

The convicts: Anees Mohammad (prime accused), Arif, Pritam Harijan, Firoz, Shekhar, Yogesh, Ashish, Mohit, Sandeep and Happy are found guilty of killing Kuldeep Singh on the night of 2nd May near Tulsi General Store, Sec-14. Kuldeep succumbed to his injuries on 8 May, while he was undergoing treatment in Ahmedabad.

There were two other people, Niyaz Mohammad and Raju Vaishnav also accused of the murder, however, since Niyaz was on the run and later arrested by police and Raju being an underage, their cases will be heard later.

Including the prime accused Anees, four others were arrested immediately after the incident and sent to judicial custody, while rest of the 5 were nabbed later, few of them were also granted bail during this period. The case was lodged by Goverdhan Vilas Police.

According to the Jai Paliwal, public prosecutor, Kuldeep Singh was murdered in the state of vengeance by Anees and other assailants, because Kuldeep’s mother had lodged written complaint against Anees for harassing her teenage daughter.

On the night of 2nd May, Anees and his associates were waiting for Kuldeep Singh near Tulsi General Store. Kuldeep when arrived with one of his cousins, Anees attacked him with sharp weapons and injured him severely.
