10 Students identified for allegedly killing 19-year-old

Police administration assured of Rs. 50,000 compensation for victim’s family, but the protestors denied the help and demanded Rs. 10 Lac as compensation and also added several other demands, including rustication of all accused students, government job for victim’s elder brother and free medicine for victim’s ailing father.
Police has identified 10 people involved in the brutal attack that took Mertiya’s life. The names of the accused are Arvind Kotir, Parvat Singh Rana, Mayur Dhwaj, Harish Meena, Dharmesh Tank, Harshwardhan Singh (Goldy), Yashwanth Choudhary, Yogesh, Bharat Jaat and Karan Meghwal.
According to Jaipal Ranawat, one of the friends who were with Mertiya before the incident, said “I, myself with Jaipal Mertiya (in photo above), Surendra Singh and Jagdish Dewra were sitting at a tea stall when all the accused came and attacked them with knives, Mertiya ran away, but the gang chased him at Sports Ground and stabbed him several times before fleeing from there”.
However, on the other side, sources claim that both the groups had a fight with each other, one of the accused Dharmesh Tank (sitting right side in photo above) was also severely injured in his head and was later arrested from MB Hospital for allegedly stabbing Mertiya.
All top officials including District Collector Vikas Bhale also met with the protestors sitting outside mortuary for discussion, but protestors did not negotiate and remained still on their demands.
Later in the evening, related to the same incident, few unidentified students shattered the glasses of Manama Motors situated opposite to BN College; heavy police force has been deployed outside the college to keep the situation under control. Police also detained 2 students for pelting stones on the showroom.
Rajput Karni Sena has decided to keep Udaipur Bandh tomorrow on 18 Dec, all colleges and student unions supported the protest.
