An incident of alleged murder of a 12 year old girl came to light today after the victim girl died in hospital following severe burn injuries. The girl, Vidya Kumari, resident of Nandvel village, Jhadol was admitted to MB Hospital’s burn unit from past two days. She succumbed to her injuries yesterday.

The girl’s father Premchand Lohar informed police that his daughter was burnt by a gang of men who entered his house and attacked her daughter. At the time of incident, Premchand and his wife were out while their daughter was alone at home.

According to Premchand, the men who came covering their faces, dragged their daughter to the bathroom and poured kerosene on her before setting her on fire.

Neighbors who heard screaming of the girl rushed to her help and informed her parents. Vidya who was studying in 6^th standard was admitted in MB Hospital.

According to the police, the reason of the attack is still unknown. Villagers and parents of the victim girl met district collector and also demanded strict action against the accused.

S.P Ajaypal Singh Lamba said, “Up till now police has not found any clue which is pointing towards the alleged murder. It could also be an accidental death. However investigation is still going on and nothing is conclusive right now.”

S.P along with his subordinates visited the place of incident and inspected the situation.
